Barry Davis

Founded SMG in 2017 35 years experience as a geologist in the international mining industry, including 25 years in Central Asia & Western China. Extensive corporate experience at consultancy and management on a board level from start up to IPO’s on AIM, HK & TSX, to exploration and production (Asia Gold Ltd, Eureka Mining Plc, Pan Pacific Gold/Dragon Mountain Gold Ltd and IRGEM Inc), from negotiating Purchasing Agreements to JV’s, with detailed understanding of the legal framework in various countries for exploration and mining and managing country risk etc.

Strong leadership qualities, reflected in success in various countries, Strong record on environment and health and safety in the workplace, A Competent Person (CP) according to JORC code to produce Independent Reports and Valuations of mineral resources for Au, Fe, Ag, Cu, Pb, Zn

Andrew Paine

NED & Company Secretary

A former Managing Director and member of the Executive Committee of Al Rajhi Holdings group of companies, based in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Switzerland. Prior experience includes working for Salomon Brothers Asset Management. He is a Director of Halcyon Ethical Russian Growth Fund Ltd. He is a qualified banker, Member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment, and previously held FINRA Series 7, 24, and 63 licenses.

John Emmott

B.A., Ll.B. DIRECTOR-NED & Legal Advisor

Mr Emmott is an Australian citizen, graduation form the Uni of Sydney. He was admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales and High Court of Australia in 1978, and the Supreme Court of England & Wales in 1985.

Mr Emmott has extensive experience of acting for companies and investors in the resources sector throughout the world, in particular the CIS. In the 25 yrs he has spent much of his time in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Russia. he has acted as adviser to many companies and foreign investors in a variety of sectors, particularly the resource sector as well as state agencies of the Government of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and the Russian Parliament on dispute and investment matters.

Mr. Emmott has had extensive experience of international Arbitration, having conducted many arbitrations before the ICIA, the ICC, ICSID and the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce.

Steve McRobbie

Mr Mc Robbie has 30 years’ experience as a professional exploration and project director on gold, base metals, diamond and uranium projects, and has held senior management roles and directorships in Africa, Western Europe and the CIS having worked on a number of high-profile mine development projects in Central Asia and Russia. As Geology Manager for Kazakhmys Projects, Mr McRobbie was a key leader in the evaluation team which took the Bozshakol and Aktogay Copper Porphyry Deposits in Kazakhstan through Feasibility Studies and into development. As Exploration Manager for KAZ Minerals Projects he was involved in the purchase and subsequent evaluation of Koksay Copper Porphyry in Kazakhstan to PFS level, and also part of the Due Diligence team integral to the sale and purchase of Baimskaya Copper-Gold Complex in Chukotka, Russia, which includes Peschanka. He is not afraid to reassess and challenge preconceived views and bring fresh ideas, looking to add value to projects. Recently he was Regional Director for the CIS heading the business for an international UK-based mining consultancy WAI, and is a Competent Person as defined by the JORC code (2012).

Ruslan Ibraev

BL, MBA General Director, Administration, Kazakhstan

Mr Ibraev is a resident of Kazakhstan with over 20 years management experience in gold and copper exploration and mining in Central Asia.  He was one of the founders of Polygon Resources (Frontier Mining Limited) which was engaged in the exploration of copper and gold, and owned and operated the Benkala and Naimanjal projects. As Deputy Director on Environmental and Production Supervision, for Sary Kazna LLP (subsidiary of CAML) Mr Ibraev was involved in: gold mining at Tochtarovskoye deposit; perspective gold/lead/zinc and copper exploration at Narynskaya area; and exploration and mining of copper at Kounrad dumps, including construction of 10k tpa SX-EW copper plant. Mr Ibraev has extensive experience in the areas of government and public relations.

Kevin Fisch

Mr Fisch is an investor and analyst with experience across multiple sectors including cryptocurrency, resource investing, fintech and carbon credit investing. Previously he operated the largest online free crypto investment fund in the United States for eToro with over 165,000 followers where he achieved number 1 returns and number 1 copied portfolio. He has made over 25 angel investments and been involved in projects such as AAVE, Monero, Horizen and more."

Will Cloverdale

B Eng (Mining) MBA, MAusIMM- Mining Engineer

Mr. Coverdale, MEng (Mining), is an independent Mining Engineer with over 18 years of experience in the mining sector with a particular focus on project development across the base and precious metals. His technical and operational mining experience spans open pit and underground projects globally. Will has worked extensively throughout the Asia region having trained in Australia with companies such as Newcrest, Barrick-Newmont, and Goldfields to name a few. Will was recently the Chief Mining Engineer for Thor Exploration. Responsible for developing Nigeria’s first industrial scale gold mine in the country with a nameplate of more than 80koz Au pa. Thor Exploration successfully achieved first gold-pour in July-2021 from their Segilola project. Consulted to Zhaojin Gold on numerous project Due Diligence assignments as part of their ongoing M&A activity across Africa and South America. Principal Mining Engineer to Chifeng Gold, to further develop their presence across the Oceania region
